Attorney
Eldon L. Youngblood is a Partner in the firm’s Dallas office and focuses his practice on commercial and residential mortgage lending and construction law.
Prior to joining McGlinchey Stafford, Mr. Youngblood was an attorney with Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, LLP. He has supervised the development of mortgage lending transaction services for over 25 years. He has served as principal counsel in handling the purchase and sale of more than 25 mortgage companies and mortgage company asset pools. He is heavily involved in providing a wide range of legal services to the mortgage lending industry.
Mr. Youngblood has authored articles in more than 50 journals and seminar papers on real estate and lending topics, including “Mechanics' and Materialmen's Liens in Texas,” 26 Southwestern Law Journal 889 (1981), and “The Special Problems of Construction Loan Workouts,” Texas State Bar Advanced Real Estate Course, 1989. He also authored a treatise entitled Youngblood on Texas Mechanics’ Liens (James Pub. 1999). He has been a speaker at more than 50 Bar and law school-sponsored seminars throughout Texas on real estate lending and lien topics.
Mr. Youngblood has been an adjunct professor of mortgage lending at the Southern Methodist University School of Law, and has been recognized in the respected publication, “Best Lawyers in America” (Woodward & White, eds.) for 25 consecutive years. He is a peer-reviewed, charter member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers.
